The Differences Between the Qur'an and the Qudsi Hadith

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
After this, a message was sent by the listener Sultan al-Harthy, our brother, who has more than one issue. In one of the issues he asks about, he says: I hope you will be kind enough to clarify the difference between the Noble Qur'an and the Qudsi Hadith? And if I do not memorize the text of the Qudsi Hadith, is it permissible for me to say that the meaning of that hadith is such and such? And is it permissible to pray the voluntary prayer with the Qudsi Hadith? May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
The Qur'an is the miraculous speech of Allah, which Allah made a miracle for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and made it a proof of the truth of his message, and that he is truly the Messenger of Allah. So the Qur'an is the speech of Allah; He made it the miracle of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and a proof that he is truly the Messenger of Allah. The believer recites it in his prayer and in other times, and he worships Allah with it. It is the speech of Allah in its letters and its meanings. The speech of Allah in its letters and its meanings is the speech of Allah with which He (Glorified and Exalted is He) spoke, and Gabriel brought it down to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). This is the statement of the people of the Sunnah and the community: it is truly the speech of Allah, not the speech of anyone else.
As for the Qudsi Hadith, it is speech attributed to Allah, which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) attributed to Allah. It is called a Qudsi Hadith, meaning a hadith from Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He). It is also considered the speech of Allah in its wording and its meaning. For example, if it is established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said, "Allah said such and such," it is considered the speech of Allah. This is the correct view: its wording and its meaning. In the hadith, Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He) says:
O My servants, I have forbidden oppression for Myself and have made it forbidden amongst you, so do not oppress one another. O My servants, all of you are astray except for those I have guided, so seek guidance of Me and I shall guide youيا عبادي! إني حرمت الظلم على نفسي وجعلته بينكم محرمًا فلا تظالموا، يا عبادي! كلكم ضال إلا من هديته فاستهدوني أهدكم
Sahih Muslim 2577a
, thus the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said about Allah .
And likewise, what came in its meaning from the hadiths that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) transmits; the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) transmits them from Allah, saying: This is the speech of Allah. This is called a Qudsi Hadith. However, it does not have the ruling of the Qur'an. It is not a miracle, and it is not recited in the prayer. In the prayer, one recites specifically from the Qur'an. As for the Qudsi Hadiths, one reads them for the benefit of oneself or with his brothers for the sake of benefit.
As for reciting the Qudsi Hadith in the prayer, no, it does not have the ruling of the Qur'an in this regard. The Qur'an is a miracle and is recited in the prayers, so it has another ruling. But the Qudsi Hadith is attributed to Allah, and it is said that it is the speech of Allah in its wording and its meaning, but it is not a miracle, and it does not have the ruling of the Qur'an in that the book containing it must not be touched except by one in a state of purity, and it is not the ruling of the Qur'an in that it is recited in the prayer. This is one thing and that is another thing. Yes.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good and do you good. Your Eminence asks: Is it permissible for me to narrate the Qudsi Hadith by its meaning?

The Shaykh : If you are certain and know its meaning with certainty, and you have no doubt, then narrate it by its meaning, like the hadith of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Yes.

The presenter : What Allah willed. May Allah reward you with good and do you good.
