The obligation toward one who appears to have lost her mind

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
السؤال:
The questioner says: I have a sister from my mother who became ill during her childbirth. She no longer eats like other people, does not speak to anyone, and constantly thinks about worldly matters like other people do. She does not pray. What is our obligation toward her? Are the religious obligations lifted from her?
Answer:
No. She must be taught, advised, and guided, so that perhaps she may find the right path. Perhaps this is a temporary condition. Guide her. If it is established that her mind is intact, she must be disciplined until she straightens out and prays. However, if it is established and becomes clear that her mind has gone, the pen is lifted from her, and she becomes like the insane from whom the pen is lifted. But her condition must be treated; she must be tested until her state is clarified. If she is of sound mind, she must be disciplined and struck until she prays. If she is not of sound mind, or if it becomes clear that her mind has gone, her ruling is the ruling of the insane and the delusional. Yes.
The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
