Prohibition of joking with forbidden speech

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
He says: There are people who speak harsh words, and I advised them to stop, but they say: This is just joking. What should we say to them? May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
You tell them: It is not permissible to joke with forbidden speech, and it is obligatory that joking be done with permissible speech, and permissible speech should be used sparingly, with little joking.
As for joking with cursing, or insulting and abusing, or lying; it is not permissible. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Woe to him who lies in his talk to make the people laugh, Woe to him! Woe to him!ويل للذي يحدث فيكذب ليضحك به القوم، ويل له، ثم ويل له
Bulugh al-Maram 16:80
And he (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Cursing a believer is like killing himلعن المؤمن كقتله
This is a severe warning. And he (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Abusing a Muslim is an outrage and fighting against him is unbeliefسباب المسلم فسوق، وقتاله كفر
Sahih Muslim 64a
So abusing, insulting, and cursing are major sins against a brother who does not deserve it. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
