The Shaykh: Because the Qur'an and the Sunnah—as you know—came in a clear Arabic tongue, and the Arabic language, as its experts know well, is known to have multiple aspects and to carry several meanings. Therefore, the first person to be tasked, indeed the only one tasked, with clarifying the noble Qur'an regarding a verse that may hold many meanings is our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). This is also explicitly stated in the noble Qur'an, where the Lord of the Worlds said: [An-Nahl 16:44] [An-Nahl 16:44] meaning: the Qur'an, as evidenced by His saying (Mighty and Majestic) in the Qur'an: [Al-Hijr 15:9] which is the noble Qur'an.
And We revealed to you the message that you may make clear to the people what was sent down to them
And We revealed to you the message
Indeed, it is We who sent down the Qur'an and indeed, We will be its guardian.
