Ruling on paying zakah from saved money

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The questioner asks in this question: May Allah preserve you, he is an employee and he sets aside a sum of money from his salary each month for times of need or for marriage. Is zakah obligatory on what he has saved?

Answer:
Yes, zakah is obligatory on it. Every portion on which a lunar year has passed, he pays zakah on it. Every portion he saved on which a lunar year has passed, he pays zakah on it. And if he pays zakah on the whole amount following the first portion, there is no harm. May Allah reward him with good. Otherwise, each portion has its own zakah when its lunar year passes. If he saved a thousand in Ramadan, its zakah is due when Ramadan comes. If he saved a second thousand in Shawwal, its zakah is due when Shawwal comes. If he saved a third thousand in Dhul-Qa'dah, he pays its zakah when Dhul-Qa'dah comes, and so on. And if he pays zakah on all of them in the first lunar year in Ramadan, that is sufficient. And all praise is due to Allah. May Allah reward him with good. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you.
