The Ruling on the Hadith: (Maghrib is a jewel, so seize it)

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
He asks and says: We pray two rak'ahs between the Maghrib adhan and the iqamah. Some people told us: It is not valid; because of the saying of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him): (Maghrib is a jewel, so seize it). How authentic is this hadith? And how valid is the statement of our companion? May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
This hadith has no basis. (Maghrib is a jewel, so seize it) has no basis. Rather, it is from the fabrications of the fabricators and the lies of the liars.
And the Sunnah is to pray two rak'ahs before Maghrib. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Pray before Maghrib, pray before Maghrib
Bulugh al-Maram 2:264
Then he said in the third:
for whoever wishesلمن شاء
So the Sunnah is to pray two rak'ahs. If you come before Maghrib, you pray two rak'ahs after the adhan. And if you are sitting in the mosque, you stand and pray two rak'ahs after the adhan. Because of his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
Between the two adhans there is a prayer, between the two adhans there is prayer
Sunan Abi Dawud 1283Sahih (Al-Albani)
Then he said in the third:
for whoever wishesلمن شاء
So this is general, then he specified Maghrib, and said:
Pray before Maghrib, pray before Maghrib
Bulugh al-Maram 2:264
Then he said:
for whoever wishesلمن شاء
in the third.

So the Sunnah is to pray two rak'ahs before Maghrib. If you enter after the adhan before the iqamah, you pray two rak'ahs as the greeting of the mosque. And if you are sitting, having come to the mosque before Maghrib, you stand and pray two rak'ahs after the adhan, for these hadiths that you have heard.
And the one who told you: It is not prayed, is ignorant. He does not know the rulings of the Shari'ah. We ask Allah for guidance for us and for him. And among the great calamities is issuing fatwas without knowledge. This is among the great calamities and among the major prohibitions. Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) says: :
Say, "My Lord has only forbidden immoralities - what is apparent of them and what is concealed - and sin, and oppression without right, and that you associate with Allah that for which He has not sent down authority, and that you say about Allah that which you do not know."
[Al-A'raf: 33] He placed it above shirk, speaking about Allah without knowledge, a great crime. We seek refuge in Allah.
And He said (Exalted and Majestic is He) in Surat al-Baqarah:
(168) O mankind, eat from whatever is on earth [that is] lawful and good and do not follow the footsteps of Satan. Indeed, he is to you a clear enemy. (169) He only orders you to evil and immorality and to say about Allah what you do not know.
[Al-Baqarah: 168-169] Satan commands people to speak about Allah without knowledge, especially one who has no knowledge, yet he claims affiliation with knowledge and affiliation with seeking knowledge, while he has no knowledge. So he thinks he is on something. This is a mistake. It is obligatory for him to ask the people of knowledge, and he must guard his tongue, so he does not speak except with knowledge.
Seeking knowledge is among the most important matters. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
He upon whom Allah intends to bestow goodness, He confers upon him an insight in religion
Sahih Muslim 1037a
So the person seeks knowledge, he does not feel shy, he does not claim knowledge while he is ignorant. He seeks knowledge, attends the circles of knowledge, and asks the people of knowledge until he benefits and is benefited. And it is not permissible for anyone to speak about Allah without knowledge. It is never permissible for a man or a woman to speak about Allah without knowledge, until he knows from the saying of Allah and the saying of His Messenger this ruling that he is stating, or he asks the people of knowledge and says: So-and-so said, attributing it to the scholar, attributing the issue to the specific scholar, saying: I asked him and he answered me with such-and-such. May Allah guide them all. Yes.

The presenter: O Allah, amen. May Allah reward you with good.
