The fifth question of Fatwa No. ( 17900 )
Q5: It was narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) in Sahih Muslim that he said:Riyad as-Salihin 1125 , does this indicate that the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) prayed the regular voluntary prayer of Maghrib in the mosque, given that he compared the large number of people praying between the adhan and the iqamah to the large number of people praying
after the prayer?
A5: It is recommended to pray after the adhan of Maghrib, based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): , and this prayer is not considered a regular voluntary prayer (rawatib); because the regular voluntary prayer of Maghrib is after it, and there is no regular voluntary prayer before it, but rather this is from the absolute voluntary prayers. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
Q5: It was narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) in Sahih Muslim that he said:
When we were in Al-Madinah, the moment the Mu'adhdhin finished the Adhan of the Maghrib prayer, the people hastened to the pillars of the mosque and performed two Rak'ah prayer behind them. A stranger coming into the mosque would think that the obligatory prayer had already been performed because of the number of people performing them.
A5: It is recommended to pray after the adhan of Maghrib, based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
Pray before Maghrib, and he repeated this, then said: for whoever wishes.
صلوا قبل المغرب، وكرر ذلك ثم قال: لمن شاء
