The Manner of Shrouding the Deceased

Question:
One of the listening brothers sent a message without mentioning his name, in which he asks: Does the deceased wear clothes other than the shroud at burial, whether male or female, or is the shroud sufficient?

The presenter: The question again: Does the deceased wear clothes other than the shroud, whether male or female? Or is the shroud sufficient? May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
The Sunnah is to suffice with the shroud; the shroud is sufficient. If a man is shrouded in three garments, which are wraps in which he is wrapped, this is the best. Or a single wrap in which he is wrapped is sufficient. And if he wears a shirt along with the wrap, there is no blame on him. But the best is three wraps spread out flat, then the first is wrapped, then the second, then the third, then it is tied over him at his head, at his middle, and at his feet.
And the woman likewise wears an izar, a shirt, and a khimar, then two wraps, and this is sufficient for her. There is no need to add to this. Yes.
