What is the ruling on using cosmetic products?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Finally, the questioner says, O Shaykh: I ask about the ruling on using the many cosmetic products that are applied to each part of the face?

Answer:
There is nothing wrong with beautification if it is something that does not alter Allah’s creation, such as henna, such as kohl in the eye, such as dye on the lip, and the like. The customary items in use that have no harm and no ritual impurity are permissible. Beautifying oneself before women and before one’s husband is permissible if there is no prohibition involved.
However, if there is a prohibition involved, such as tattooing, tattooing is forbidden, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) cursed the one who performs tattooing and the one who gets tattooed, or such as plucking the eyebrows or shaving the eyebrows, this is blameworthy, or using something ritually impure that is not permissible to use, or the like. But if beautification is with something permissible, such as kohl, or dyeing the lip with dye, or the like, something permissible with no harm in it, yes.
