The Ruling on Praying with Iron and Copper Rings

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
السؤال:
A listener (M. A. B. S.) from Libya sent a message containing a number of questions. In one of them, she asks: Is it true that it is not permissible to pray with copper rings and chains? Please inform us, may Allah reward you, and may Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
It is not true. There is no harm in praying with a gold ring for a woman, a silver ring for everyone, or an iron ring for everyone. There is no harm in that. The hadith that prohibits this is a weak, anomalous hadith that contradicts the authentic hadiths. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said to the man who wanted to marry but had nothing:
Look (for something), even if it is only an iron ringالتمس ولو خاتمًا من حديد
Sunan an-Nasa'i 3359Sahih (Darussalam)
It was narrated by the two Shaykhs, al-Bukhari and Muslim, in the two Sahihs; this indicates the permissibility of wearing an iron ring.
As for the hadith in which he saw a man wearing an iron ring and said:
Why do I see on you the garment of the people of the Fire?ما لي أرى عليك حلة أهل النار
and he saw another wearing a brass ring and said:
Why do I see on you the scent of the idols?ما لي أرى عليك ريح الأصنام
it is a weak, anomalous hadith that contradicts the authentic hadiths. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
