What is the ruling on wearing bracelets and rings of iron in various shapes for children and women? And an explanation of the hadith: (The iron ring is the adornment of the people of the Fire).

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Al-Halabi : Is it permissible to wear iron bracelets and rings in their various shapes for children or women?

The Shaykh : As for rings, it is not permissible; the ruling on an iron, copper, or gold ring is the same: it is forbidden for men and for women. As for bracelets and the like, there is no prohibition. In some Islamic countries, people assume that anything like an iron bracelet falls under the prohibited iron ring, and this is an expansion of analogical reasoning that is not praiseworthy. This is because the principle in analogical reasoning is that a Muslim should not resort to it unless he is compelled to do so. And regarding prohibition, it is contrary to the principle, because the principle for things is permissibility. Therefore, the ruling on iron and copper bracelets differs entirely from the ruling on iron, copper, and gold rings.
Al-Halabi : Our Shaykh, is it not an adornment? And it was mentioned in the hadith
That iron is the adornment of the people of the Fire أن الحديد حلية أهل النار
.

The Shaykh : It is not iron in general, but rather the iron ring.
Al-Halabi : The iron ring.

The Shaykh : And from here comes the error. If there were a text stating that iron adornment is the adornment of the people of the Fire, then at that time...

The questioner : For example, in a new dowry we add, for example, after Islam, for example.

The Shaykh : No, there is nothing new in the matter, yes.
