How a latecomer performs the prayer

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
A message was received for the program from Sudan, sent by a listener from there, named Kamil Harun Rifi. He asks a collection of questions, one of which is: I hope you will detail these important issues, in my view. May Allah reward you with good: How does a latecomer handle one or two rak'ahs in 'Isha' or Maghrib? Does he recite quietly? Or how does he proceed? May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
If he missed one rak'ah, when the imam concludes the prayer, he stands up and performs the rak'ah he missed. He recites only al-Fatihah in it. This is the best approach, because what he makes up is the end of his prayer, and what he caught up with the imam is the beginning of his prayer. This is the correct position: what the latecomer catches up with is the beginning of his prayer, and what he makes up is the end of his prayer.
So if he missed one rak'ah of 'Isha', Maghrib, or Fajr, when the imam concludes the prayer, he stands up and performs the remaining rak'ah. It is recommended to recite aloud in Maghrib. In 'Isha', he recites only al-Fatihah. If he recites more, there is no harm in doing so quietly. As for Fajr, he recites aloud, as it is a prayer of loud recitation. He recites al-Fatihah aloud in the rak'ah he makes up, along with additional verses, just as he would if he were with... just as the imam would recite them. However, since he is not with the imam when making it up, he performs it and recites what is easy for him along with al-Fatihah, aloud, without disturbing those around him. Yes.
