The best and most complete option for a woman is to marry a man whose appearance is Islamic

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
She says: I have heard that it is obligatory for a girl not to marry except a man whose appearance is Islamic. I am, praise be to Allah, a committed girl, but all those who have proposed to me are not committed. So should I agree, or not?

Answer:
There is no blame on you. It is permissible to agree if he is a Muslim, even if he has some shortcomings in some sins, so that you do not remain unmarried; because seeking perfection today is very difficult.
So if a man is available who is known for his uprightness in prayer and noble morals, and even if he has some deficiency, there is nothing wrong with marrying him, and you should be content, praise be to Allah.
But if a man is available who is known for his uprightness and for not committing any sins, that is more complete and better. An example of this is if he smokes, or lets his garment hang below the ankles, or does something like cutting his beard, or the like. This is a deficiency and a sin, but if someone else is available, that is required and is the most complete.
And if no one is available except this type of people, there is no blame in marrying for the sake of chastity, the safety of religion, and the protection of honor; and perhaps Allah will guide him through your means. Yes.

The presenter: Allah is the One to be sought for help. How is the complete Islamic appearance, O Shaykh?

The Shaykh: The Islamic appearance is in the Muhammadan way, according to the outward appearance of the Shari'ah in his clothing, his walking, and all his affairs. He is known for not letting his garment hang below the ankles, not shaving or shortening the beard, not being arrogant, and maintaining the prayers in congregation, among other signs of Islam. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
