Customary Marriage

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
A message was received by the program from Dammam, sent by one of the female listeners. She says: Al-Bandari Hala, our sister, asks and says: I have heard and read about marriage in one of the Arab Islamic countries. She says: There is a marriage called customary marriage, and another called Shari'ah marriage. She fears that people are falling into this and asks about the ruling so that people may become aware?
Answer: What has preceded clarifies Shari'ah marriage. As for customary marriage, it is not to be heeded. It is obligatory to focus on Shari'ah marriage, which contains no prohibition from what Allah has forbidden. Therefore, the husband's family, the wife's family, and their relatives should cooperate so that the marriage is Shari'ah-compliant, far from what Allah has forbidden, and all should be careful to ensure that the occasion possesses the wisdom and good manner that it requires, and to engage in what is required of good matters, such as not being extravagant in the wedding feast, and not introducing what Allah has forbidden therein, such as songs, entertainment, stringed instruments, or the like.
That is to say: They must cooperate to ensure the presence of good and the absence of evil in this marriage, so that the objective is achieved without what Allah has forbidden. The intent is the chastity of the man and the woman and the realization of their marriage. Let this be done in the Shari'ah manner that Allah has legislated for His servants and permitted for them, and let them all stay away from what Allah has forbidden in words and deeds. Yes.
The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
