Is it permissible for a young man to marry a girl without his mother's consent?

Question:
I am a young man who wants to marry a girl who is known in our village to be righteous. My mother refused for trivial reasons... and my father agreed. So, should I marry without my mother's approval or not?

Answer:
If the girl is good in her religion and suitable, there is no harm: , there is no harm in marrying without the consent of your father or your mother. However, as much as possible, try to please them and have the marriage take place with their consent; that is more complete and better. So, try your best to do that, perhaps you will succeed. And if you find someone who can take her place so that you can combine both benefits, that is better and more pleasing. But if the need for her is urgent and she is righteous in herself, it is not a condition for that that your father or your mother consents; because the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) said: , and it is not known to be right to leave a righteous wife because of their refusal or the refusal of one of them.
