Ruling on going out in transparent socks

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Is it permissible to wear transparent socks and go out in them to the street? Please inform us, may Allah reward you.

Answer:
For a man, there is nothing wrong with it, but he should not wipe over them until they are covering. As for a woman, no; because they reveal her 'awrah (part of the body that must be covered), they reveal the leg, so it is not permissible. A woman must have covering socks that protect her from fitnah (trial, discord or temptation), and she may wipe over them if she wears them while in a state of ritual purity. As for a man, if he wears them, they are of some benefit, but he should not wipe over them until they are covering. We ask Allah for well-being. Yes.

The presenter: O Allah, amen.
