Ruling on the supplication: “O Allah, make me among the wronged…”

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The questioner from Sudan, Akram Nasr, says: Your Eminence! There is a person who makes this supplication, saying: “O Allah, make me among the wronged, and do not make me among the wrongdoers.” I want to know the ruling on this question.

Answer:
I do not know of any basis for this, but one should ask his Lord for well-being, saying: “O Allah, I ask You for well-being.” As for asking to be among the wronged rather than the wrongdoers, I do not know the rationale for this supplication. However, it is better to supplicate to his Lord that Allah protect him from oppression, that Allah forgive his sins, that Allah cover his private parts, and that Allah protect him from sins, and the like of that.
