The cases in which siblings inherit from one another

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
From the brother: Khudri Muhammad Rida, an Egyptian resident in Ha'il, asks Your Eminence: Do siblings inherit from one another, especially if they are from different mothers?

Answer:
Yes, siblings inherit from one another, whether they are full siblings, paternal half-siblings, or maternal half-siblings, provided there is no heir who blocks them. However, if the father is present, he blocks them; or if the deceased has a son, or a son of the deceased, he blocks the siblings. Likewise, the paternal grandfather, according to the correct opinion, blocks the siblings. If a person dies leaving his father and his siblings, the wealth goes to his father. Or if he dies leaving his son and his siblings, the wealth goes to his son. Or if he dies leaving his grandson, the wealth goes to his grandson, and the siblings have nothing. Thus, the siblings are blocked by the father, the son, and the son of the son, no matter how far down the line. Whether there are daughters with the son and the son of the son, or no daughters with them, the male son, or the male son with daughters, blocks the siblings. Likewise, the son of the son alone, or with his sisters, blocks the siblings. And likewise, the paternal grandfather, according to the correct opinion, blocks the siblings. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
