The ruling on a woman receiving medical treatment from a doctor in the presence of a nurse

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
You are asking Your Eminence about the ruling on visiting a doctor, especially a dentist, as she says: “I went once and found only a man, but the nurse was present—as she says—so what is the guidance of Your Eminence? May Allah reward you with good.”

Answer:
If a female doctor is available, it is obligatory to seek treatment from the female doctor. If a female doctor is not available, it is permissible to seek treatment from a male doctor, but without seclusion; her husband, her brother, or another woman must be present. This is because seclusion is not permissible. Seclusion with a doctor, or with anyone other than a doctor, is not permissible. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
A man should not be alone with a woman, for Satan is the third among them.لا يخلون رجل بامرأة فإن الشيطان ثالثهما
Al-Mustadrak lil-Hakim 2:94
Therefore, a woman must not be alone with her husband’s brother, her uncle, one of her neighbors, her cousin, or her servant. No, there must be the presence of a third person, or more, provided there is no suspicion. Similarly, a doctor must not be alone with her; her husband, her brother, her uncle, or another woman, such as a nurse or someone else, must be present. She must not be alone with the doctor. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
