Is reciting Surah Yasin at the grave of the deceased established?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : He says, "Ask about reciting Surah Yasin at the grave of the deceased; is it established?"

The Shaykh : No, there is no report of reciting any part of the Qur'an at the grave of the deceased. What is established is that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to stand over the grave after the burial of the deceased was completed and say:
Seek forgiveness for your brother, and beg steadfastness for him, for he will be questioned now. استغفروا لأخيكم واسألوا له التثبيت فإنه الآن يسأل
Sunan Abi Dawud 3221Sahih (Al-Albani)
.
As for reciting Surah al-Fatihah, or reciting Surah Yasin, or anything else from the Qur'an, this is not a recommended practice, as there is no report from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Yes.
