What is permissible for a man to see of his wife

Question:
The listener from Dammam: (F. G. S), she says: Is it permissible for a husband to see his wife’s body? May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
Yes, he is permitted to see her body, and she is permitted to see his body, uncovered. They are permitted to sleep in one garment and in one covering. The One who permitted him to have intercourse with her has permitted him to look at her a fortiori; because intercourse is more intense and greater. So if Allah has permitted him intercourse, then his touching her private parts, or seeing her private parts, or seeing her entire body, all of that is permissible. Yes, and she is the same. Yes, for this reason the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would take a ritual bath with his wives. They would take a ritual bath together in one place, he would see her and she would see him. Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said so, and likewise Umm Salama said it. They would take a ritual bath together from one vessel, in one place, uncovered. And he was the best of people, the most righteous of people, and the most God-fearing of people toward Allah. Yes.
