What is the ruling on playing the hand drum at weddings for men?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
I love you for the sake of Allah. As for what follows: In these days, celebrations and weddings have become numerous, but along with them, there is the playing of the hand drum and the zirr among the men. One of the shaykhs said that this is lawful on such occasions, and we are confused about this matter. So what is the ruling? May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
First: May Allah love you, for the sake of Whom you loved us.
As for the hand drum in marriage, there is nothing wrong with it. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and the Companions approved of it. The women do it; the hand drum is for women in connection with announcing the marriage among women specifically, without mixing with the men. The woman plays the hand drum and they sing with the usual singing; there is nothing wrong with that. This is part of announcing the marriage. As for the drum, no, the drum is not used, not by women, nor by men, not at a wedding, nor in anything else.
We ask Allah for guidance for everyone.
