The ruling on one who breaks his oath out of respect for the one who swore him

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
A man rode with me in my car and gave me a sum of money. I swore not to take it, and he swore that I should take it. However, I then placed it in one of the boxes of the Islamic Relief Agency. What is your opinion?

Answer:
You did well in taking it, and you fulfilled your brother's oath. You owe an expiation for the oath. You did well in taking it; the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded the fulfillment of oaths, and your brother has a right over you. You honored him by doing so, and you owe an expiation for the oath, which is feeding ten poor people or clothing them; because you swore and then went against your oath in order to honor your brother and fulfill his oath.
Q: His statement: give it in charity?
The Shaykh: Even if you gave it in charity, you owe the expiation, even if you gave it in charity.
