Is it obligatory to seek the permission of one's parents for jihad?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
I love jihad, and the love of it has become intertwined in my heart, and I cannot bear to be without it. I have asked my mother for permission, but she did not agree. However, I am deeply affected, and I cannot stay away from jihad. Your Eminence, my life's ambition is to fight in the cause of Allah and to be killed in His cause, but my mother does not agree. Please guide me, may Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
Your jihad for your mother is a great jihad. Stick to your mother and treat her well, unless the one in authority orders you to go out for jihad, in which case you should hasten. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
If you are called out, then go out.
. As long as you have not been called upon, treat your mother well, have mercy on her, and be dutiful to her; this is a great jihad that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) placed before jihad. It was said: "O Messenger of Allah, which deeds are the best?" He said:
Faith in Allah and His Messenger.
. It was said: "Then what?" He said:
Dutifulness to parents
. It was said: "Then what?" He said:
striving in the path of Allahالجهاد في سبيل الله
Sunan Abi Dawud 2486Hasan (Al-Albani)
. Thus, he placed dutifulness to them before jihad.
A man came to him seeking permission, saying: "O Messenger of Allah, I love to go out for jihad." He said:
Have you sought the permission of your parents?
. He said: "No." He said:
Go back and seek their permission.
. In another version, he said:
So strive in them.
.
So, have mercy on this mother and treat her well until she gives you her permission. However, if calamity befalls you, defend yourself, and there is no power nor strength except with Allah. Or, if the one in authority orders you to mobilize, you must mobilize, even without their consent. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
And when you are called to mobilization, then go forth
. Allah the Exalted said:
If you do not go forth, He will punish you with a painful punishment
[Surat al-Tawbah: 39].
