What is the ruling on seeking blessing from Mount al-Nur?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Regarding Mount al-Nur in Makkah, people have been seen praying two rak'ahs there, seeking blessing from its stones, and weeping at it in a way they do not weep at anything else, saying: "O Muhammad, O Allah?"

Answer:
This is part of the ignorance of the foreigners regarding Mount al-Nur, and also regarding the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) place of residence on the mountain in the Cave of Hira, and the Cave of Uhud in Madinah. These are superstitions, and it is obligatory to fight them.
Q: When they are rebuked, do they become more attached to rubbing against it, seeking blessing from it, and holding such beliefs?
A: They should be rebuked.
Q: Should they be prevented by placing a fence or something similar?
A: Instructions have been issued by the state and by the Council of Senior Scholars on this matter, and Allah makes causes beneficial.
