The Ruling on Visiting a Patient Who Has Lost His Mind or Consciousness

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
If the patient has lost his mind, is it permissible to visit him?

Answer:
It appears that the hadiths cover this case. He may be advised, he may be directed toward good, he may benefit from something, and he may be connected through a tie of kinship.
Q: If the patient is in a coma, is it prescribed to visit him?
A: Allah knows best. However, if he visits him, I do not know of any harm in it. Otherwise, I do not know of anything specifically regarding this matter. But if he visits him, Allah may benefit through his visit: the patient may become aware of him, the visit may be a cause for his awakening, or the visitor may make du'a for him and Allah may cure him because of his supplication.
