The loss of consciousness during prayer

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 19909 )
Q 2: One week after my father passed away, my mother passed away. She was an old woman and ill, and it was a shock to me because misfortunes come one after another. I wept bitterly because I could not bear the news. My mother was ill, and the doctors had diagnosed her with a condition, which was (bleeding in the brain). She would miss some of her prayers without being aware of it. When she sensed that her death was near, she bequeathed charity for the prayers she had missed . It is known that she was very strict in maintaining her prayers, a believer in Allah the Exalted, who fasted the entire month of Ramadan despite being an old, weak woman, and who also fasted voluntary fasts. The question here is: We do not know what we should give in charity for the prayers, or what the expiation is for the prayers?
A 2: You must be patient with the divine decree and destiny of Allah, and seek reward from Allah for the loss of your mother, and refrain from wailing and lamenting over her. There is a strong prohibition against weeping over a deceased person if it is accompanied by wailing, lamentation, and screaming. Regarding the state of your mother that you mentioned, where she would miss the time for prayer while not being aware of it, there is no blame or sin on her for leaving the prayer, because she is not obligated to pray due to her lack of awareness. Nor is it obligatory for your mother to pay an expiation or give charity for leaving the prayer, because she was not aware at the time of leaving it.
If you voluntarily give charity on her behalf, that is good, and you will receive great reward and recompense from Allah the Exalted. It is also your right to pray for her, ask Allah for her forgiveness and mercy, and maintain ties with her relatives and friends by being kind to them. This is part of being dutiful to her after her death. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
