What is the ruling on animal statues after their heads are cut off?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Is it permissible to keep statues in the shape of animals in the house after their heads are cut off?

Answer:
If the head is removed and only the body remains without a head, there is no harm, as in the authentic hadith: that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had an appointment with Jibril one day, so he came but did not enter, and the Prophet asked him about that, and he said:
Indeed, in the house there is a statue, a curtain with images in it, and a dogإنَّ في البيت تمثالًا وسترًا فيه تصاوير وكلبًا
, then he said:
Order that the head of the statue be cut off so that it becomes like a tree, and that the curtain be made into two low cushions to be sat upon, and that the dog be taken outمُرْ برأس التمثال أن يُقطع حتى يكون كهيئة الشجرة، وبالستر أن يُتَّخذ منه وسادتان مُنتبذتان تُوطآن، وبالكلب أن يُخرج
, so the Prophet ordered that to be done, and Jibril (peace be upon him) entered; because when the head is removed, the image of a human or the image of an animal does not remain.
