What is the criterion for the degradation that permits the use of images?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
In the heading of the chapter, it says: The prohibition of drawing living creatures on a carpet, stone, cloth, pillow, or dinar?

Answer:
In everything.
Q: But he did not mention degradation?
A: Degradation is well known; it may be mentioned in another chapter. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took a pillow or two pillows and left this matter. In the hadith of Abu Hurayrah, it is stated that he (peace and blessings be upon him) had an appointment with Jibril, but Jibril was delayed. So he went out to him and said:
Indeed, in the house there is a statue, and a curtain with an imageإنَّ في البيت تمثالًا، وقِرامًا فيه صورة
, and a dog. He ordered that the head of the statue be cut off so that it would be like a tree, and he ordered that the curtain be spread out as two separate cushions, and he ordered that the dog be taken out. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did so; then Jibril (peace be upon him) entered.
Q: Can it be inferred from his (peace and blessings be upon him) statement in the hadith:
So let them create a speckفليخلقوا ذَرَّة
, that image-making is prohibited absolutely?
A: No. The position of the majority of scholars is that it is prohibited except for those that have souls; because this is a matter of challenging Allah. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) only prohibited those that have souls. As for drawing a stone—as Ibn Abbas said—or a mountain or a garden, there is no harm.
Q: If one draws an image and puts a line on the neck?
A: That is not sufficient. It is necessary to remove the head. A line is not sufficient; the entire head must be removed.
Q: What about video films with animated drawings for children?
A: Image-making is not permissible absolutely, neither for children nor for others. As for what is like what is seen in a mirror, it is not called an image.
Q: As for what is on the carpet?
A: What is seen but not drawn, there is nothing wrong with it.
Q: As for the carpet or coverings, the image is sometimes visible on the pillows or bags?
A: The sin is on the one who drew it. As for you, there is nothing on you.
Q: Okay, and does the buyer fall under the prohibition?
A: There is nothing on the buyer, as long as the carpet is degraded, it does not harm. But what is hung up or worn is what is prohibited and not permissible.
Q: Even if he prays on it?
A: If he prays on it, it does not harm. But only the patterns on it may disturb his prayer. So it is better for the prayer mat to be free of patterns, even if they are not images.
Q: What are patterns, but it is an image?
A: I say: It is more severe than patterns. One should not pray on it so that it does not disturb his prayer, from the perspective of preference.
Q: But if he prays, is the prayer valid?
A: There is nothing wrong with it.
Q: Blankets and pillows?
A: Likewise, the blanket is degraded like the pillow.
