Explanation of the words of Ibn Malik (may Allah have mercy on him): . . . And extend: In cursing the female, the pattern is "Ya Khathath" *** And the command is thus from the triliteral

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :"And extend
In cursing the female, the pattern is 'Ya Khathath'"
:
"Extend" means to extend by analogy. Extend in cursing the female: cursing her means criticizing her, insulting her, and the like. You say: "Ya Khathath", "Ya Lak'ah," and what else?
The student: "Ya Fajirah."

The Shaykh : "Ya Fajirah," "Ya Fasiqah," and the like. So if you want to call out to a female describing her with a defect or curse, you call her using this pattern, the pattern of Fa'al, yes. If she becomes a liar, you say: "Ya Kadhdhabah," right? And if she becomes ugly: "Ya Qabihah," and so on. The author says:
"Extend in cursing the female the pattern 'Ya Khathath'".
He said: "And the command is thus from the triliteral":
Meaning, extend the command, or "the command" is the subject, and "from the triliteral" is its predicate, and "thus" is its predicate. "The command is thus" means that the command from the triliteral is extended on the pattern of Fa'al. So you say for "nazala" (he descended): "Nazalah," you say to a man, for example: "Nazalah, we will honor you," meaning descend, we will honor you. Good. And others? Can we say from "hadara" (he attended): "Hadhrah," and from "sajada" (he prostrated): "Sajadah," and so on.
The student: "Raka'a!"

The Shaykh : "Raka'ah," and so on. "The command is thus from the triliteral": What does "thus" mean? It means on the pattern of Fa'al.
From the quadriliteral, can it be extended? Hmm? If I said, for example: "Come, I will give you a good place to stay," is it appropriate to say: "Nazalah," meaning I will give you a place to stay? Hmm? Or meaning give me a place to stay? No, it is not appropriate, because the author says from where? From the triliteral.
