Q: In the noble hadith in the chapter on the father’s right over his son , he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Does this statement apply to a daughter who has a good salary, even if her father has no material need for it, as long as she is under his guardianship?
A: The hadith encompasses both the son and the daughter, and this is also indicated by his (peace and blessings be upon him) statement in the hadith of Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her):Sunan Ibn Majah 2290Sahih (Darussalam) It was narrated by the five, but it is conditional that there be no severe harm to the child, whether male or female; because he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Sunan Ibn Majah 2340Da'if (Darussalam), and what came in its meaning from the evidence, and that the father not take it for the sake of accumulation, but rather take it for a need. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
