Reading from Ibn Aqil’s commentary (may Allah have mercy on him), with the Shaykh’s annotations: " .

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reader: "If one stops on the pronoun's hā', and if it is with a dammah, as in 'I saw him,' or with a kasrah, as in 'I passed by him,' its connecting letter is deleted, and one stops on the hā' with a sukūn, except in cases of necessity. And if it is with a fathah, as in 'I saw Hind,' one stops on the alif and it is not deleted. They likened idhā to the accented noun with a tanwīn, so they replaced its nūn with an alif in stopping".

The Shaykh : Only?
The student: ...

The Shaykh : Huh?
The student: In writing ...

The Shaykh : In writing, the people of writing differ on this. Some said: the nūn remains so that it is not confused. And some said: the nūn is deleted and an alif is written so that what is not pronounced is not written. But in my opinion—and although I am not one of the scribes—keeping it is preferable. Keeping it is preferable so that a person is not confused with the conditional idhā.
The student : Shaykh?

The Shaykh : Yes.
