The Shari'ah Treatment for One Afflicted by Sins

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: Peace be upon you, and Allah's mercy and blessings:
I am a young man, 21 years old, who has been afflicted with sodomy (sexual deviation) since I was 8 years old, as my father was preoccupied with my upbringing. I am now living in regret and remorse over this act to the extent that I am considering suicide, may Allah protect us from that. What increases this pain and torment is that my family wants me to get married. I ask your eminence to guide me to the right path and an effective treatment for my problem so that I may be rid of the life of torment I am living. May Allah reward you with all good.
S. M. H.

A: And upon you be peace, and Allah's mercy and blessings. After that:
I ask Allah to grant you well-being from what you have mentioned. There is no doubt that what you have mentioned is a great crime, but its cure is easy, praise be to Allah, and that is to hasten to sincere repentance. This is done by regretting what has passed, abandoning this crime, and making a sincere resolve not to return to it, along with keeping the company of the righteous, staying away from the wicked, and hastening to get married.
And rejoice in good, success, and a good outcome if you are sincere in your repentance; for the saying of Allah:
And turn to Allah in repentance, all of you, O believers, that you might succeed.وَتُوبُوا إِلَى اللَّهِ جَمِيعًا أَيُّهَا الْمُؤْمِنُونَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ
[al-Nur: 31] and His sayingin Surat al-Tahrim:
O you who have believed, repent to Allah with sincere repentance.يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا تُوبُوا إِلَى اللَّهِ تَوْبَةً نَصُوحًا
[At-Tahrim 66:8]
the verse [al-Tahrim: 8] and the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
Verily migration wipes out all the previous (misdeeds)التوبة تهدم ما كان قبلها
Sahih Muslim 121
and his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
The one who repents from sin is like one who did not sin.التائب من الذنب كمن لا ذنب له
Sunan Ibn Majah 4250Da’if (Darussalam)
.
May Allah guide you, rectify your heart and your deeds, and grant you sincere repentance and the company of the righteous.
And peace be upon you, and Allah’s mercy and blessings.
