Neighbors and Giving Preference Among Them

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question: Does a neighbor of my own kin have precedence over a Muslim neighbor who is adjacent to my house? And do my kin have precedence over other Muslims in the same neighborhood we live in, even if they reside far from us?

Answer: Giving preference based on kinship, Islam, and neighborliness consists of three types:
A neighbor who has three rights is the Muslim neighbor who is also a relative; he has the right of Islam, the right of neighborliness, and the right of kinship. A neighbor who has two rights is the Muslim neighbor, or the relative who is not Muslim; he has the right of Islam and the right of neighborliness, or the right of neighborliness and kinship if he is not Muslim. A neighbor who has one right is the disbelieving neighbor, who has only the right of neighborliness. And success is from Allah.
