Ruling on going to one who claims to treat sorcery

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: My brother was ill for a long period of time, and I took him to many hospitals, but he did not benefit from any of that. After that, they said that he had some sorcery, so I took him to a person who claims to treat the disease of sorcery. He treated him by strange methods according to their own known methods, which are known to everyone, and he was healed by the permission of Allah. My question is: Am I sinful for doing this?

A: If it is known that he practices sorcery or the knowledge of the unseen, then you are sinful, and you must repent to Allah, turn back to Him, and not return to it. But if he treats by recitation and permissible supplications, then there is no harm; due to the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
He who visits a diviner ('Arraf) and asks him about anything, his prayers extending to forty nights will not be accepted.من أتى عرافًا فسأله عن شيء لم تقبل له صلاة أربعين ليلة
Sahih Muslim 2230
narrated by Muslim in the Sahih, and his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
Whoever visits a diviner or a fortune-teller and believes in what he says has disbelieved in what was revealed to Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).من أتى عرافًا أو كاهنًا فصدقه بما يقول فقد كفر بما أنزل على محمد عليه الصلاة والسلام
Sunan al-Bayhaqi 15:740
narrated by the people of the Sunan with a good chain, and he also said (peace and blessings be upon him):
It is not one of us who performs sorcery or has sorcery performed on him, and it is not one of us who takes an omen or has an omen taken for him, and it is not one of us who practices fortune-telling or has fortune-telling practiced for himليس منا من سحر أو سحر له، وليس منا من تطير أو تطير له، وليس منا من تكهن أو تكهن له
.
It is not permissible for a Muslim to go to these fortune-tellers or sorcerers or diviners—who are those who claim to know matters of the unseen—or to ask them. The patient may be healed by many causes, or he may not be healed, and not every patient is healed. He may be treated with a medicine that does not suit his disease, or his term of life may have arrived, in which case medicines do not benefit. The benefit of medicines is conditioned by the term of life not having arrived, as Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) said: :
But never will Allah delay a soul when its time has comeوَلَنْ يُؤَخِّرَ اللَّهُ نَفْسًا إِذَا جَاءَ أَجَلُهَا
[Al-Munafiqun: 11]. But if the term of life arrives, medicines do not benefit. May Allah guide them all.
