What is said after the prayer

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The question: He also asks and says: When reciting the tasbih after the end of the prayer, I noticed that the person in charge who recites the tasbih loudly after the prayer, who is usually the mu'adhdhin, recites it in a hurried manner, making it difficult for the worshippers to recite it correctly after him. What is the ruling on this?
The answer: It is prescribed (mashru') for the believer to remember Allah after the prayer by himself, and not to follow the imam or anyone else. So when he says the taslim from the prayer, he says: "I seek Allah's forgiveness, I seek Allah's forgiveness, I seek Allah's forgiveness. O Allah, You are Peace, and from You is peace. Blessed are You, O Owner of Majesty and Honor." This is the sunnah. If he is an imam, he turns to the people after this. If he is an imam, after saying this, he turns to the people and faces them, then he says: "There is no god but Allah alone, with no partner. His is the dominion and His is the praise, and He is over all things competent." If he wishes, he says: "He gives life and He causes death, and He is over all things competent." Then he says: "There is no power and no strength except with Allah. There is no god but Allah, and we worship none but Him. His is the favor, His is the praise, and His is the good reputation. There is no god but Allah, sincere to Him in religion, even if the disbelievers dislike it. O Allah, there is no one who can prevent what You have given, and there is no one who can give what You have withheld, and the wealth of the wealthy does not benefit him against You." This is what is prescribed (mashru') for everyone: the imam, the ma'mum, and the one praying alone. Then he says: "Subhan Allah (Glory be to Allah), Alhamdulillah (Praise be to Allah), Allahu Akbar (Allah is the Greatest)" thirty-three times each, totaling ninety-nine. Then he completes the hundredth by saying: "There is no god but Allah alone, with no partner. His is the dominion and His is the praise, and He is over all things competent." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
his previous sins will be forgivenمن قال هذا؛ غفر له ما تقدم من ذنبه
Sunan Ibn Majah 285
,
his sins will be forgiven even If these are as abundant as the foam of the sea.غفرت خطاياه وإن كانت مثل زبد البحر
Sahih Muslim 597a
This is a great virtue. It is the sunnah for the imam, the ma'mum, and the one praying alone to perform this dhikr after the prayer.
It is not prescribed (mashru') for the ma'mum to follow the imam or anyone else, but rather he should recite the tasbih by himself and remember Allah by himself. Each person remembers Allah by himself, between himself and his Lord. He should raise his voice somewhat so that it is heard, because raising the voice with dhikr after the prayer is prescribed (mashru'). This is the correct view. Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) said:
Raising the voice with dhikr when the people disperse from the obligatory prayer was the practice in the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Ibn Abbas said: I used to know when they had dispersed by hearing itكان رفع الصوت بالذكر حين ينصرف الناس من المكتوبة على عهد النبي ﷺ ، قال ابن عباس: كنت أعلم إذا انصرفوا بذلك إذا سمعته
So the sunnah is to raise the voice, but in a moderate way, not disturbing anyone, but so that people can hear it. People should know that the prayer has ended, even those at the doors of the mosques should know that. This is the sunnah.
Then after this, it is prescribed (mashru') for the believer to recite Ayat al-Kursi, according to the correct view
Allah - there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existenceاللَّهُ لا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ
[al-Baqarah: 255]. Then it is prescribed (mashru') after this to recite
Say, "He is Allah, [who is] One,قل هو الله أحد
[Al-Ikhlas 112:1]
and the two Mu'awwidhat (Surat al-Falaq and Surat al-Nas), after every prayer.
Say, "He is Allah, [who is] One,قل هو الله أحد
[Al-Ikhlas 112:1]
, and
Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of daybreakقل أعوذ برب الفلق
[Al-Falaq 113:1]
, and
Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind,قل أعوذ برب الناس
[An-Nas 114:1]
, once after the Zuhr, after the 'Asr, and after the 'Isha'. As for after the Maghrib and after the Fajr, it is repeated three times. This is the best.
[An-Nas 114:1]
. This is what is prescribed (mashru') after the prayers, as that came from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Yes.
The presenter: May Allah reward you.
