The Deceptions of the Sufis and Our Role Toward Them

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
This is a question from a questioner in Syria. He says: A messenger from Khalifah Sultan Muhammad says: There are people among us who claim: “We are the sons of Shaykh Isa,” or the sons of another Shaykh from the Shuyukh known among us. They come to us and ask people for money. They have worn a green silk garment on their heads, and they have iron rods in their hands. If you give them, you give them; if you do not give them, they become angry and strike themselves with this iron on their bellies and on their heads. Is this a type of sorcery? Should we give to them? Should we believe them? What is the ruling?
Answer: These are from the sect called the Sufis. These people deceive people and trick them by claiming that they are the sons of so-and-so and the sons of so-and-so, and by claiming that they are entitled to assistance from people. Therefore, these people should be prevented from this work, and they should be disciplined for this work by the state if it rules by Islam. Such people should not be given to. And if they strike themselves, perhaps they will kill themselves, then there is no blame on you in that. This is from the confusion and deception that they do. In reality, they do these satanic matters with forgery from Satan and deception from Satan. It is called: al-tatabbir, and it is one of the types of sorcery. They do this thing as if it does not harm them, and they do not do it in reality. If they did it in reality, it would harm them. For the weapon and iron and the like of that harms a person if he strikes himself with it. But they ...... on the eyes with types of sorcery. They deserve this severe discipline from the one in authority so that they do not return to such an ugly, blameworthy work. And it is not permissible for the people of Islam to assist these people; because assisting them means assisting in the blameworthy, and in the deception, and in the sorcery, and in harming the Muslims and deceiving them.
So it is obligatory to prevent these people and to put an end to this blameworthy act of theirs, and to cut off their means by severe discipline or imprisonment until they are deterred from this work. Yes.
The presenter: Meaning, they are not to be believed in this?
The Shaykh: No, they are not to be believed. They are myths.
The presenter: This is a type of sorcery.
The Shaykh: These are myths, sorcery from the jinn, and one of the types of sorcery.
The presenter: May Allah reward you.
