Ruling on a child taking from what the father buys for the house without his permission
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
If our father buys us some items for the house, and our mother is the one in charge of them, and we took from them without asking our mother for permission, I and my brothers took, what is the ruling?
The Shaykh: Repeat.
The presenter: You say: If our father buys us some items for the house, and our mother is the one in charge of them, and I and my brothers took from them without her knowledge, what is the ruling on that?
Answer: If you are in separate houses, you have no right to take anything except with the father's permission; because he bought it for his house, and the mother does not give you anything except with his permission, unless you know that he allows it and he has no objection to it, in which case there is no harm. So if he buys meat for his house, do not take anything from it, or fruit for the house, do not take except with his permission, verbal or customary permission. If it is known from his custom that you are known to him, and it is known between you that he is lenient and that this matter does not concern him, then there is no harm. Otherwise, you have no right to proceed with this thing, which he bought for his house and his wife and his small family, and you are in separate houses, do not take anything from it except with permission, and the mother likewise does not give you except with permission, unless there is a known permission from your father, an explicit permission or one indicated by the circumstances and what is known of his state and his leniency, and that he does not object to something being taken from this item, if this is known, then there is no harm. Yes.
The presenter: May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
