The ruling on a husband washing his wife when she dies

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The question: His final inquiry in his letter says: Is it valid for a man to wash his wife if she dies, or a daughter of one or two years old, even if she is a stranger to him?
The answer: There is nothing wrong with a man washing his wife, or a woman washing her husband, as the Sunnah has come from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). So there is no blame on a man washing his wife, and no blame on a woman washing her husband. As for anyone other than the wife, that is not allowed. However, a concubine is of the same category as a wife. A concubine is a slave woman whom a man keeps and makes a place for intercourse with, because he owns her through purchase or gift, if slaves are found through inheritance or lawful capture. There is nothing wrong with a man taking her as a concubine, and there is nothing wrong with her washing him and him washing her, just like a wife. As for his mother, daughter, sister, and the like, he does not wash them; rather, women wash them. But a young daughter is washed by men, and there is nothing wrong with that if she is under seven years old, such as a daughter of five, three, or four years old; there is nothing wrong with that. Likewise, a child who is seven years old is washed by women as well. Those under seven are washed by men and women.
The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
