What is meant by the mujahideen in: {Allah has preferred the mujahideen over those who sit}?
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
This is a letter that reached us from Fahd Rashid al-Hasan from Iraq, Diyala Governorate. He says in his letter: The Master said in His Noble Book: [Al-Nisa: 95]. Is the meaning of the mujahideen here only those who strive in the path of Allah, or is jihad valid in the path of honor, dignity, land, or homeland, or the like? Please inform us, may Allah reward you?
Answer: When jihad is mentioned in a general sense, it means striving in the path of Allah: But it is obligatory for the Muslim to defend his homeland from disbelievers and aggressors, and to defend his honor, his blood, and his wealth. If he is killed, he is a martyr; for it is established from him (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said: Mishkat al-Masabih 3529 And it is established from him (peace be upon him): Al-Imam Muslim narrated it in his Sahih.
This indicates that if he fights to defend his wealth, he is a wronged martyr. But fighting in the path of Allah, when mentioned in a general sense, is striving in the path of Allah: fighting the disbelievers and fighting the aggressors, the rebels, and the highway robbers is striving in the path of Allah. Yes.
The presenter: May Allah reward you.
But Allah has preferred the mujahideen over those who remain [behind] with a great reward -
فَضَّلَ اللَّهُ الْمُجَاهِدِينَ عَلَى الْقَاعِدِينَ أَجْرًا عَظِيمًاAnswer: When jihad is mentioned in a general sense, it means striving in the path of Allah:
It was said: O Messenger of Allah! A man fights for bravery, a man fights for zeal, and a man fights for showing off. Which of these is in the path of Allah? So the Chosen One (may the prayer and peace of Allah be upon him) said: Whoever fights so that the word of Allah is the highest, he is in the path of Allah.
Sa'id b. Zaid reported God’s Messenger as saying, “He who is killed in defence of his religion is a martyr, he who is killed in self-defence is a martyr, he who is killed in defence of his property is a martyr, and he who is killed in defence of his family is a martyr.” Tirmidhi, Abu Dawud and Nasa’i transmitted it.
من قتل دون دينه فهو شهيد، ومن قتل دون ماله فهو شهيد، ومن قتل دون أهله فهو شهيدA man came to him and said: O Messenger of Allah! A man comes to me wanting my wealth? He said: Do not give him your wealth. He said: If he fights me? He said: Fight him. He said: If he kills me? He said: Then you are a martyr. He said: If I kill him? He said: Then he is in the Fire.
Yes.
