The neck is not one of the limbs of wudu, and the method of wiping the head

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first message in this episode is a letter sent to the program from the Syrian Arab Republic, from a listener there, whose initials are (N. S. S). In one of his questions, he says: First: Is the neck one of the limbs of wudu? I ask you to issue a ruling on this. May Allah reward you with good.
Answer: In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon the Messenger of Allah, and upon his family and his Companions, and upon those who follow his guidance.
As for the answer: The neck is not one of the limbs of wudu. Rather, the wiping ends at the back of the head, starting from the front of the head to the back of the head, to the last place where hair grows. This is how the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to do it. He (peace and blessings be upon him), when he wiped his head, would start from the front of his head to the back of his head with his hands, then return them to the place where he started. This is the best way to wipe. However, wiping in any manner is sufficient, whether he starts from the back or the middle, as long as he covers the entire area with the wiping, that is sufficient for him. But starting from the front, then passing his hands to the back of the head to the last place where hair grows, and then returning them to the place where he started, this is the Sunnah that the Chosen One (peace and blessings be upon him) practiced. As for the neck, it is not a place for wiping and it is not one of the limbs of wudu. Yes.
The presenter: May Allah reward you with good! He asks—Your Eminence, the Shaykh—about the sides of the head: Is it required to wipe them?
The Shaykh: Yes, the sides of the head are wiped along with the top of the head and the front of the head. The entire head is wiped. Yes.
