The ruling on praying in sleepwear

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The questioner says: We know that a Muslim must pray in pure clothing, but we do not know if it is permissible for a Muslim to perform wudu in clothing that is not pure, but is not actually impure in a tangible sense, such as sleepwear?

Answer:
He is not allowed to pray in impure clothing. As for clothing about which there is doubt, there is no harm. Sleepwear is not impure, unless he knows that impurity has affected it, in which case he washes the impurity.
As for sleeping in it, sleep does not make it impure, unless it is affected by urine, pre-seminal fluid, or any of the other impurities, in which case he washes what has affected it. If he knows that there is impurity in it, he does not pray in it. But if he did not know, the original state is purity, and praise be to Allah. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good and do you well, Your Eminence, the Shaykh.
