Question:
The second verse, Your Eminence:
Cursed were the companions of the trenchقُتِلَ أَصْحَابُ الأُخْدُودِ
[Al-Buruj:4] It asks: Who are the People of the Trench?

Answer:
A group of disbelievers and oppressors who tortured the believers by digging trenches for them and placing fires in them, may Allah grant us safety. Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He) condemned them, saying:
Cursed were the companions of the trenchقُتِلَ أَصْحَابُ الأُخْدُودِ ۝
[Al-Buruj 85:4]
the Fire with its fuel when they were sitting over it and they were witnesses to what they were doing to the believers [Al-Buruj:4-7] This means: People among the disbelieving polytheists oppressed the believers and made trenches for them, torturing those who did not comply with them.
We ask Allah for well-being, yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
