What is required of one who accidentally runs over a camel with a car?

Question:
He says: My colleague and I were traveling by land on the road leading to Riyadh from the southern region at night, and suddenly one of the camels crossed our path on this route, and we ran it over with the car after making a serious attempt to avoid the accident, and the camel died. So I ask the Shaykh, may Allah preserve him: Is there anything required of us in this matter?
Knowing that I am the owner of the car, and my colleague is the driver?

Answer:
There is nothing required of you; because the state has warned the owners of camels to keep them away from the roads and prevent them from being on the roads; because many accidents occur with them, and a large number of people die as a result of them. So the criminal and the transgressor is the owner of the camel, who released it and neglected it around the roads. And praise be to Allah who kept you safe from the harm of this camel. The death of the camel is easier than the harm that befalls people in their cars. So there is nothing required of you. Yes.
