Is it permissible to perform Hajj on behalf of a deceased person?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
I ask Your Eminence, the Shaykh, that I performed Hajj on behalf of my grandfather, and I performed all the rituals perfectly. Is this Hajj valid for him, even though he has passed away into the mercy of his Lord?

Answer:
Yes, if you had already performed Hajj for yourself, then you have done well. This is maintaining family ties and an act of dutifulness, so may Allah reward you with good.
As for if you had not performed Hajj for yourself, then this Hajj counts for you, and you can perform Hajj for him again.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
