The ruling on appointing one who is unable to stand as the imam of the mosque

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
He asks another question and says: We have a man who is disabled; he cannot get up from the ground and walks on his hands and feet. However, he is the best of us in reciting the Noble Qur'an, because he sat in the Sacred Sanctuary for more than ten years memorizing the Noble Qur'an. Is it permissible for him to lead the prayer?
We ask for your guidance; may Allah reward you.

Answer:
Such a person should not be an imam, because he is unable to stand. It is obligatory to appoint as imam one who is able to stand. However, if he was a regular imam and then an illness struck him and he had to sit, there is no harm in the people praying behind him, whether standing or sitting.
As for appointing and installing him while he is disabled, no, he should not be appointed while he is unable to stand. Rather, one should seek out someone who is able to stand. Yes.

Question: May Allah reward you with good.
