The Ruling on Delaying the Fajr Prayer

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Our brother asks another question, saying: A man maintains the prayers, but he delays the Fajr prayer by varying amounts of time. What do you advise him?
May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
We advise him to be cautious of imitating the people of hypocrisy, for the hypocrites delay the 'Isha and Fajr prayers and are lazy about them. It is obligatory to be cautious. The prayers are heavy for the hypocrites; all of them are heavy for the hypocrites, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
The most burdensome prayers for the hypocrites are the 'Isha' prayer and the Fajr prayer. If only they knew what (reward) there is in them, they would come to them even if they had to crawl.أثقل الصلاة على المنافقين صلاة العشاء وصلاة الفجر، ولو يعلمون ما فيهما لأتوهما ولو حبوًا
Sunan Ibn Majah 797Sahih (Darussalam)
meaning: If they knew what reward is in them, they would come to them even if they had to crawl.
It is obligatory for the believer to be cautious of the characteristics of the hypocrites, to distance himself from them, and to maintain all five prayers in congregation: Fajr, Zuhr, 'Asr, Maghrib, and 'Isha. It is not permissible for him to delay the Fajr prayer ever. Rather, he must pay attention to it and pray it with his brothers, just as he does with the other prayers. If he does not wake up, he should seek help from Allah, then from some of his family members to help him wake up, or by placing an alarm clock near his head, setting it for just before Fajr. Then, when it rings, he gets up. Allah makes these clocks easy; they are a blessing from Allah. He places it near his head and sets it for the time he wants before Fajr, or at Fajr. When it rings, he hears the sound and gets up.
Among the causes as well: he should sleep early and not stay up late. If he is a heavy sleeper, it may be difficult for him to sleep early, but he must not stay up late, so that he rises at Fajr energetic, with nothing preventing him.
It is not permissible for him to be lax in this matter ever. Rather, he must pay attention to this matter for several reasons: one is to sleep early and not stay up late; another is to place an alarm clock to help him, setting it for just before Fajr; and another is to assign some of his family members who wake up early to wake him. This is along with asking Allah for help in this good deed and repenting to Him for what has passed. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
