The Meaning of Rubud in Prostration

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Among the descriptions given of the hypocrites is that when they prostrate, they tap the ground, and when they bow, they crouch. So how should one crouch in order to avoid that and oppose them?

Answer:
What is known about the hypocrites is the tapping, meaning they hasten through their bowing and prostration, and they do not remember Allah in them except a little.
As for rubud, according to the words of some scholars, rubud is prostrating in a way that is not balanced, like the crouching of a beast; one prostrates in a way that is not balanced.
The Sunnah is to be balanced in one’s prostration: prostrating on the hands, knees, toes, forehead, and nose, raising the belly from the thighs and the thighs from the lower legs, and raising the forearms from the ground. This is the balanced prostration. One should not crouch, pressing parts of the body together: the belly on the thighs, the thighs on the lower legs, and the forearms on the ground, like the crouching of a beast. This is disliked and should not be done. But the Sunnah is to prostrate in a balanced manner, not crouching. Yes.
