The Ruling on One Who Mocks Something of the Religion of Islam

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
He has another question in which he says: What is the ruling on one who mocks something of the religion of Islam, or the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), or the believers?

Answer:
The Shaykh Muhammad ibn 'Abd al-Wahhab (may Allah have mercy on him) wrote a biography in which he explained his disbelief; so joking with something of the remembrance of Allah, or the Qur'an, or mocking that, this is major shirk (associating partners with Allah), if he mocks the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), or Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He), or the Qur'an, or Paradise, or the Fire, or the like of that, or mocks the prayer, or fasting, or jihad, or the like of that; he has become a disbeliever by that, unless he is ignorant and does not understand, then he is taught and guided, so if he persists and does not repent, he is a disbeliever; due to the saying of Allah the Exalted:
(65) And if you ask them, they will surely say, "We were only conversing and playing." Say, "Is it Allah and His verses and His Messenger that you were mocking?" (66) Make no excuse; you have disbelieved after your belief. If We pardon one faction of you - We will punish another faction because they were criminals.
[Surat al-Tawbah: 65-66] So Allah made them disbelievers by their mocking, and that indicates that mocking something of the remembrance of Allah, or the Qur'an, or the Sunnah, or the like of that is considered disbelief after faith, we ask Allah for safety, yes.
