The Ruling on Taking from a Wife's Salary and Preventing Her from Working

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
He says in the last of his questions: My wife is an employee. Do I have the right to take from her salary if I am in need of it, or part of it? And if I am not benefiting from her salary, should I make her stop working and stay at home?

Answer:
If she stipulated to you at the time of marriage that she would work and that the salary belongs to her, then you have no right to it.
As for if she did not stipulate this to you, you have the right to prevent her, and you have the right to agree with her on half the salary, or less or more; because you have more right to her, and you are more entitled to her staying in your home and attending to your needs, if she did not stipulate to you at the contract that she would engage in teaching. You have the right to prevent her, and you have the right to permit her. And if you agree on something, reconciliation is permissible between you, whether it is half the salary, a third of the salary, or the entire salary. The matter is broad.
